FULL NAME: Rena Ryuugu FANDOM: Higurashi no Naku Koroni HOMETOWN: Hinamizawa (moved to Ibaraki temporarily) WEAPON OF CHOICE: A large meat cleaver she found while digging around at the town dump. HABITS: Often repeats words at the end of her sentences. Will squeal "Aiee, I want to take it home with me!" upon finding something cute. Also, when she is "possessed" by Oyashiro-sama, her eyes become dilated until they resemble cats' eyes (think the eyes of the SHM in Advent Children), but they still retain their azure color; she also tends to speak very softly but coldly, and laugh for no reason. BIOGRAPHY: Rena is about 15 years old, and good friends with Maebara Keiichi, Furude Rika, Sonozaki Mion, and Hojo Satoko. She is in the same grade-level as Keiichi, though since their school consists of only 15 students (Hinimizawa itself is a town of only 2000 people), everyone is in the same classroom. Rena has an obsession with things she considers to be cute - what she considers cute however, is not what one would normally think of as being cute (i.e. a Kenta doll [Kenta = fictional version of Kentucky Fried Chicken's mascot, Col. Sanders]). She often goes to Hinimizawa's dump to search for "treasure," and once she finds something, it's very hard to pull her away from pursuing it. Rena has a scarier side as well, as Mion attests to when talking with Keiichi one day. She is overly sensitive when it comes to the topic of Oyashiro-sama and the curse surrounding the Watanagashi Festival [Cotton-Drifting Festival], and can be very frightening when angered. Keiichi is told by Oishi that Rena transferred back to Hinamizawa when she went through her school in Ibaraki, smashing every single window with a baseball bat and then attacking three male friends, injuring one so badly that he lost an eye. However, charges were never pressed; she was sent to a neurologist, who prescribed drugs and therapy, and took notes that told of Rena's growing obsession with Oyashiro-sama.
